Fast & Furious 11: New Updates from Director Louis Leterrier

Louis Leterrier, the director of Fast X, recently announced updates on the next movie of the Fast & Furious series. In April 2022, Leterrier took over as director after Justin Lin left the project due to disagreements over the movie’s direction.

At the CCXP MX event, Leterrier said that filming for Fast & Furious 11 is set to start early next year. As a result, the release date has moved from April 4, 2025, to an unconfirmed date in 2026. “It’s definitely happening soon. Right after I finish my horror film this summer, I’ll start work on Fast,” he shared. The movie’s release will mark the 25th anniversary of the series.

Furthermore, Leterrier hinted that the final movie will return to Los Angeles, the original setting of the franchise. He aims to create a memorable journey that feels like coming home. Vin Diesel, the star of the series, has also expressed his excitement about the movie, describing it as a celebration of the series’ family.

Before directing Fast & Furious 11, Leterrier is working on a horror movie called 11817, written by Matthew Robinson. This film follows a family locked inside their home by unknown forces, struggling to survive as they run out of essentials. Leterrier is also producing the film with several partners, including Thomas Benski and Omar Sy.
