Justin Lin Joins Amazon MGM for New Crime Thriller

Director Justin Lin has signed on to direct and produce a new crime thriller titled “Stakehorse” for Amazon MGM Studios. This project marks Lin’s latest collaboration after his involvement with the Fast Saga.

“Stakehorse” is highlighted as a gripping crime thriller. The screenplay is by Justin Piasecki, who also serves as an executive producer. The movie is produced by Todd Lieberman and Alex Young of Hidden Pictures. The script for “Stakehorse” was highly ranked on the Black List, which lists the best unmade screenplays.

Justin Lin has a rich history in filmmaking, beginning with “Shopping for Fangs” in 1997 and “Better Luck Tomorrow” in 2002. He gained fame directing multiple Fast & Furious films and later directed “Star Trek Beyond.” Despite stepping away from the Fast X production due to disagreements, Lin’s directorial prowess is well recognized.

With Lin’s new project, it’s uncertain if he will direct the fourth Spider-Man movie, as he has other commitments like “Two For the Money” and “One Punch Man.” Recent rumors suggested Lin as a potential director for Spider-Man 4, but his busy schedule might be a hindrance.

Currently, “Stakehorse” does not have a confirmed release date. Lin’s involvement in various other films keeps his schedule packed, making it a busy period for the acclaimed director.
