Kung Fu Panda 4 Review: Is it the Best of all Four Parts?

I just watched Kung Fu Panda 4 and here’s my take on it. The movie is fun and keeps the spirit of the series alive, especially with its stunning animation and action scenes. Po, voiced by Jack Black, remains the heart of the story, and his clumsy charm is on full display. Awkwafina joins as Zhen and adds a fresh twist with her sassy humor.

However, the film felt a bit rushed, especially towards the end. The plot is predictable and doesn’t add much new to the franchise. The villain, The Chameleon, though visually interesting, didn’t feel as threatening compared to past adversaries. Also, the absence of the Furious Five was noticeable, and I missed the deeper connections that were so strong in the earlier films.

Despite these issues, I loved the animation quality and the fight scenes, which are some of the best in the series. The humor is spot-on for kids, and the movie does a good job mixing light-hearted jokes with action. It’s definitely a movie that families can enjoy together, even if it doesn’t quite live up to the magic of the first films.

Additionally, Kung Fu Panda 4 does a solid job in maintaining a balance between action and humor. The new character, Zhen, brings a lively dynamic to the story, which is refreshing.

On the downside, the story sometimes feels like it’s trying too hard to be funny, which might not sit well with older audiences. The finale felt rushed and left me wanting a more polished conclusion.

In terms of emotional depth, the movie does have its moments but doesn’t quite reach the highs of the earlier films. Yet, it manages to deliver enough charm and fun to keep viewers engaged.

While not groundbreaking, Kung Fu Panda 4 provides a pleasant, family-friendly experience that still showcases why Po is such a beloved character. It’s not perfect, but it’s a nice way to spend an afternoon at the movies.
